Haiti Water Project

Location: Carrefour, HT

Budget: $11000.00

Still Needed: $0.00

Goal: Stop the spread of cholera through providing tanks and rain water collection systems and water filtration systems.

How You Can Help:

Impact Nations partnered with David Pearson, director of I Thirst International, and James Harrington, director of Ugandan Water Project, to provide safe drinking water for Haitians.  James Harrington said it well: "Reeling in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, this island nation was kicked while it was down: crops flooded, homes washed away, and a new wave of Cholera. Known as Blue Death because of the bluish gray color victims' skin turns from profound dehydration, Cholera is devastating in places like Haiti where families live on $1.25/day."

In response to this desperate situation, together, we purchased ten 300 gallon water tanks and hundreds of Sawyer Point One Water filters.  These were distributed in Carrefour, Jacmel, and Bouvier, a remote mountain-top village.

Here's a thank you from our partner in Haiti, Reginald Celestin

Hello nations impactors,

I pray that you and all of your love ones are doing good by God's grace. This year has a tremendous year for us in Haiti. In spite of all that we went through, our God is a Faithful God and is the one who always remember his people.

As all of you know, Haiti has been and is still flighty against Cholera, but though cholera has touched some people input area, through you generous support we were able to fight against near our church, near our school in Bouvier and near our good friend pastor Jolicoeur in Jacmel. By your care for the needies, now 20 families in our church have access to clean and safe water. By your generous support, we have 7 water tank in Bouvier. When I say water tanks in Bouvier. Bouvier, I have goosebumps. Imagine 8 hours walk, crossing 3 rivers, hicking up 3 mountains. A real inaccessible remote area. But they don't to walk two hours each way to get water, they have access to it at the school and have access, not just to water but clean and safe drinking water. For that I call all of you CHAMPIONS.

May the Lord richly bless you and give you 100 fold back.

Sincerely yours,In the Master's service

Reginald Celestin
